The Faces of Sapporo.
As one would expect, the free Sapporo beer museum is tacky and kitschy, but the beer advertisement posters from the early 1900's-present provide plenty of entertainment and cultural insight.
Classy. "Olive and Sapporo? But of course!"
Mom. "Moms heart beer!"
Rico Suave-san. "Sapporo helps to lessen the aftertaste of tuna colon... "
Frumpy. "Sometimes I like to curl up with a Sapporo and watch Bridget Jones's Diary."
Bikini girl. "You really don't care what I'm selling, do you?" [taking a page from American-style advertising]
Rico Suave-san....LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way, I have frickin Gwen Stefani stuck in my head now. "... from the hood to Japan - harajuku girls, WHAT!" Thanks, Trav :p
