Japanese Bride.

Don't ask how, but yeah, funny thing... I managed to sit amongst the guests of a traditional Japanese wedding in Nara. Women around me were sobbing, and I was just trying to understand what was going on, whilst taking a few snapshots. Handkerchief, anyone?

Farewell to the Dolls.

Nearly 40,000 dolls of the deceased were expected to be collected at Meiji Shrine this past weekend. In similar ceremonies across Japan, the dolls are released from the owners' lives with prayers, and then they are incinerated. Read more from the Japan Times...
