Yokohama Terminal.
The Yokohama Terminal by Foreign Office Architects (UK) was one of the projects I was most excited to see. Modern shipbuilding techniques were considered in the construction of the terminal, which is evident in the form and aesthetics of the terminal. The most successful (and photographed) feature of the terminal is the rooftop, which has greenspace and an extensive topography that gives building occupants a way to freely weave in and out of the building in a multitude of ways.
Considering Tokyo's lack of public spaces where people can loiter, the rooftop serves an important community role of providing open spaces with greenery, promenades, and vantage points.T
